Peppermint is a cooling and relaxing herb containing properties that help ease inflamed tissue, calm muscle spasms and cramps, and inhibit bacteria and microorganisms. It has pain relieving and infection preventing qualities. It helps with nausea, vomiting, indigestion, headaches and upper respiratory infections. Peppermint is actually a hybrid of Spearmint.  

Garden Tips:

This perennial herb is easily propagated from root division or cuttings. Both methods are easy and foolproof. This is a vigorous spreading herb and plants should be spaced 12 inches apart. Peppermint requires moderate to heavy watering but will behave better in the garden if kept on the drier side. It likes full sun, partial shade and shade, there are no special soil. Harvesting peppermint before it flowers will yield a sweeter taste.
