Assam tea is a very special black tea because it is harvested from a different tea plant that was discovered to be a native to the Indian lowland region of the same name. Tea comes from the camellia sinensis plant while Assam black tea is harvested from the variety camellia sinensis var. assamica. It is known as a true Indian tea.

Origin: India

Type: Black

Directions: Use 1 generous tsp. per 8 oz. cup. Pour boiling water over leaves. Steep 4 minutes. Strain. Milk may be added.
